I’ve been using Time Machine to back up to an external 400GB drive. It’s worked fine for months, but stopped backing up a few days ago.
After each attempted backup, it now gives me an error dialog stating the size of the backup will exceed the amount of space on the external drive. The problem is that a) it vastly overstates the size of the backup (by over 200GB); and b) it vastly understates the available space on the external drive.
I’ve gone so far as to completely erase the external drive, figuring I’d just start the Time Machine deal over from scratch. No dice. It’s still giving me the same trouble.
Any ideas?
Ken

I set the preferences to use the function keys as standard function keys, with the ability to press control+f5 to go to the address bar in safar. It worked for a bit, but not now. It just highlights the back button (the arrown at the top left of the screen). What am I missing?

This didn’t used to happen, but recently, iChat has been opening after I unsleep my computer. I leave the application running always, so it’s not that it launches. The problem is that it unhides itself. Does anyone know how to stop this?

Hey guys, since I’ve been getting the shaft from Comcast about downloading torrents and am being throttled, Ive decided to go to Rapidshare. Are there any good compilers for the links? I really don’t want to do it manually so I’d appreciate it if ou guys would tell me some programs I could use for compiling the links. Let me know!!

Hey all,
I am buying a MacBook tomorrow and I really want to try to buy iWork ‘08 and use Pages ‘08 as my word processor for college. My question is if I use Pages ‘08 will my professor be able to open up my file and view it in Word 2008? If not I am going to have to buy Office 2008 for Mac and I really rather support Apple and it’s products. Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Edit: Actually I just remembered that they have us save our files at Word 2003 document or whatever (so .doc instead of .docx). So will Pages ‘08 open up?
