Posted by | Under Forums Saturday Mar 13, 2010Hey guys I just discovered something….
Posted by | Under Forums Saturday Mar 13, 2010I have a twitter account I use for website related stuff (also has url to it in Bio) which every so often I hijack for personal problems (the power of twitter to solve problems is amazing).
Anyway I run a Music Production Website and AdSense shows the usual Music Production related adverts.
Been the same for years & years. Always relative to our content. Without fail.
TODAY: I am tweeting about my boiler being broke and how I managed to fix it and also mentioned that I was not Corgi registered, so please don’t report me (I believe it is Gas Safe now - UK based).
Anyway after my tweeting today I go back to my website to see all these adverts from British gas, Corgi Gas Engineers, Gas Safe & all these adverts with nothing to do with music production but Boilers & central heating.
I’m like what’s going on here. Obviously I’ve put 2+2 together and I think I’ve came up with 4!
Has anyone else experimented and seen such results?
I hope the gas adverts go and return back to music production ones.
But I now have in my arsenal of tricks a way to provoke certain types of adverts to appear
Just thought I’d share it with you lot. let me know how you get on with such stuff.
Again, my apologies if this is common knowledge already. Get tweeting, hehe.

New service - new page or new domain?
Posted by | Under Forums Saturday Mar 13, 2010I would like to offer a new service or rather to rewamp already existing one by adding more options.
I am trying to decide what would be a better option form marketing perspective: to simply add one more page or to create a new domain.
Of course it is a matter of pros and cons, can you please shaer your view on what pros and cons are?
Thank you.

How relevant is “relevant”
Posted by | Under Forums Saturday Mar 13, 2010Thank you in advance.
P.S. Read whatever I could find on the subject, most sources are a bit vague

Why at the G submit URL page there’s a Captcha in FireFox, but none in IE(6)?
Posted by | Under Forums Saturday Mar 13, 2010I have Cookies blocked at “google.com” domains and that is also in my Restricted Sites Zone in IE to try and keep as much of their Cookies as possible off of my HD. (But that does not interfere with logging into Gmail and G Groups).
At the Submit URL page it does show a Cookie is blocked and it shows as “Restricted Sites”. So that may be why the Captcha is not showing for me. ? If that is the case, does that mean when I submit a URL there in IE, it’s actually going no where? I always get the result page:
“Thank you
Your site URL has been successfully added to our list of URLs to crawl. Please note that we do not add all submitted URLs to our index, and we cannot make any predictions or guarantees about when or if they will appear.”
Thanks.
